workshop info: a mobile is a kinetic sculpture that delicately balances components that move in response to air currents. this workshop is suitable for all levels, in it you will be learning the technique of American sculptor, Alexander Calder, best known as the originator of the modern art mobile.
supplies needed: materials are provided by hastudia, but we encourage you to bring your own sentimental personal items. components of a mobile can be anything from beads, seashells, sea glass, guitar pics or bottle caps - get creative and start collecting recycled objects to accessorize your own handmade kinetic mobile!
